WAAW’s Kate Montefiore has a new exhibition

TIR A MÔR / LAND AND SEA

Artists Kate Montefiore and Zinc

Sat 7th June to 26th July

Mon-Fri 9.30 – 4.30; Sat 9.30 to 3.30

Tir a Môr – Land and Sea, is an eclectic mix of prints and paintings, both complimentary and contrasting.

Have you ever paused to find every shade of colour in a grey sky? Or perhaps noticed the waves that long grasses make in the wind?

Artists Kate Montefiore and Zinc present work that is deeply connected to land and seascapes surrounding us in South Wales, sharing their experiences with close observation.

The artists treat colour, gesture, and texture as opportunities to expand and consider the environment using a variety of artists’ media and styles. The quality of light is unique under Welsh skies and often affects the colour changes in nature. This detail can be seen in both Kate and Zincs work, especially in their use of colour mixing.

WAAW at Llanover Hall Plant Sale – A Blooming Success!

On Friday, 3 May 2026, the Women’s Art Association Wales (WAAW) took part in the lively and well-attended Plant Sale at Llanover Hall Arts Centre – and what a success it was! The event, drew a fantastic crowd of garden enthusiasts, and members of the local community. WAAW’s stall quickly became a hive of activity, attracting a great deal of interest from visitors keen to learn more about the collective and its work. As always, the group’s vibrant and inclusive spirit was on full display, with members on hand to chat about the role of WAAW in supporting and celebrating women artists across Wales. It was a valuable opportunity for WAAW to connect with new audiences and strengthen its presence within the community. Many thanks to Llanover Hall for hosting such a wonderful event – and to everyone who stopped by our stall. We’re already looking forward to the next one! Report by Nina Lazarou
