Welcome to the Autumn 2010 season of exciting digital arts workshops, covering a range of practical and thought-provoking techniques.

Our two strands this season are:

It’s All About Me focusing on promotion, professional skills, marketing and opportunities.

Lets Start at the very beginning…Sound

Friday 10th September, 10am - 4pm

Want to record sounds, performances, or just explore the other-worldly, sensory realm of hidden sounds? Learn optimum recording techniques, field recording, sound manipulation and editing software and how to apply within sound installation, as soundtracks or simply as recordings.

Want to promote yourself and your project with flyers, invites, and posters? Learn design techniques with industry standard software, InDesign, to create professional PDF’s and print-ready files.

Lets Start at the very beginning….Film Editing

Friday 1st October, 10am – 4pm
£75
So, you’ve got footage gathering dust and you keep saying, 'hmm, I really have to get on and edit that - if only I had a computer/ editing software/ small, supportive learning group/ patient tutor........oh wait!'
Our introductory workshop will cover importing footage, editing, transitions, using text and effects and generally learning to feel comfortable with using editing software.

It’s All About Me…Attachments

Ever get a bit lost in the world of JPEG, Quicktime, FTP, PDF, PDQ? Ever wondered how to upload/download, import/export, shake-it-all-about?
Help is at hand! Learn how to resize images, reduce file sizes, convert files to PDF’s, use ftp sites, or upload work to social networking and video sites, and other aspects of submitting works for galleries and submissions.

It’s All About Me…iWeb

Friday 22nd October, 10am – 4pm
£75
Need to make your own website but feel overwhelmed by the thought of coding and Dreamweaver? Then this is just for you. Learn how to make your own website using iWeb software on Apple Mac - include photographs, set up a blog or podcasts and get yourself and your work, out there!

All of the above workshops have a maximum of three participants to one tutor, which is excellent for asking questions and gaining in-depth learning.
